This is the third year of the annual junglecode 420 event, and with the global economy in the tank, we had our doubts about the feasibility of doing another one. Well, with a LOT of help from our friends at PROJECT 51 and SHELTER, we are so happy to bring back GRIDLOK all the way from Los Angeles to headline the show on Tuesday, April 21 at Underground SF in San Francisco.
Almost 3 years ago, we presented our first major drum & bass event in San Francisco at the Underground SF. This time, we team up with MC DUH and the SHELTER crew to bring you A.Sides all the way from London, UK.
A Sides has been producing music since 1990 and has released over 500 tracks to date. He established his own label Eastside Records in 1996 and since then has remained a consistent figure within the drum and bass scene.

junglecode founder Jet performs on Friday, November 17, 2006 at BLEND, a very bass-heavy weekly event in San Francisco. In the last year, Jet has performed with several world-class Drum & Bass leaders including Loxy & Ink, Dylan, Chase & Status, Limewax, Hive, SPL, UFO! and TeeBee.
Also performing on Friday are DJ’s Gringo, Advance, and Audio1. This should be a really fun event with lots of different styles represented.
If you haven’t been asleep during the last year or so, you may have noticed that we’ve been bringing the headliners from the world-famous Therapy Sessions to San Francisco. Well, we’re just getting started. Our next installment for Therapy Sessions SF will be led by none other than SPL (Lost Soul, Tech Itch, Freak, Evol Intent.) Please seek advice from your physician prior to attending this event if you are prone to weakness.
junglecode is doing it again. This time, we’re teaming up wih the REFLEX drum & bass crew to bring you Limewax (Freak Recordings, UK) for the first time in the USA. We’re also bringing DJ Hive (Violence Recordings, SF) to the same stage to make sure this is one of the heaviest junglist events you’ll come across in a long time. junglecode and REFLEX DJ’s will also bring the sustained sound pressure levels to support this event.
junglecode is extremely proud to present Chase and Status [ BBK | BC Presents | Bingo | UK ] for their first ever San Francisco appearance at PHUTURO on June 20, 2006. Do not sleep on this one because “first ever” only happens once. This duo has been tearing up the drum & bass circuit with dubplate rotation from the likes of Andy C, Mampi Swift, Friction, Zinc, Pendulum, Fabio and Bad Company all showing huge support for their releases.
That’s right, junglecode readers. Our Ink & Loxy event was so successful that we can’t just leave it alone. We are bringing out Dylan [Tech Freaks, Freak, Obscene, UK] for an exclusive San Francisco appearance at PHUTURO on May 2, 2006. Details are still getting firmed up, but the date is set and 100 percent confirmed. Ask for your vacation days now, because you will need them after Dylan is through with you.
We are pleased to announce our newest junglecode resident DJ NOAH (aka Noah Krause) from deep in the jungles of the Western Addition in San Francisco. DJ NOAH will be appearing alongside DJ DYLAN on May 2, 2006 at PHUTURO. Here is an exclusive studio mix recorded on June 14, 2006.

March 14, 2006 was Pi Day in San Francisco and all over the cosmos. To celebrate this important value, junglecode teamed up with PHUTURO to bring these two awesome DJ/Producers to San Francisco on that evening at the Underground SF. We even gave away a bunch of Ink & Loxy records (which would not exist where it not for the discovery of the ratio of a circle’s diameter to its circumference.
junglecode crew would like to thank DJ Spirit for blowing the roof off Phuturo last week. He played an excellent mix of his own dancefloor-smashing anthems along with some wickedness we’ve never heard before. A solid 2-hour set!
DJ Spirit is moving Inneractive Music in a big way with a brand-new web site and fresh beats. The new site is a work in progress and is sure to evolve over time (as Spirit himself has done effectively.
The SF jungle scene is about to get a dose of some very heavy drum and bass from none other than acclaimed producers Digital & Spirit, making an appearance at Phuturo in November and December. Both of these artists have individually, and in collaboration as Phantom Audio, pioneered the sound we now associate with UK Drum & Bass. Don’t make the stupid mistake of missing either of these artists as they come into our neighborhood.
junglecode crew took a trip to Orange County to participate in the Macromedia MAX conference. As if the stars lined up in the cosmos, DJ Dylan is in Orange County as well. There’s no way we’d miss an opportunity to see and hear some of the most wicked beats on earth, so we trek down to Westminster to the ZenOne crew’s party at Bleu. Big UP to Dylan for rocking it in the O.
If you find yourself on the Big Island of Hawaii, you can now enjoy some junglecode on FM radio from 2 to 4 PM on Thursdays (Hawaii time.) Big up to DJ Search One for broadcasting in the 808 area code. If you’re not in Hawaii, you can hear the web stream on the University of Hawaii server. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to catch a plane to Hawaii to hear the broadcast.
Well, we do. We care enough to spread a significant bit of junglist history for the curious. The junglecode crew would like to publicly thank the pioneers from back in the day.
The infamous “Amen” break that inspired thousands of DnB tunes was originally recorded by the Winstons in the late sixties. The equally important “Apache” break was recorded by the Incredible Bongo Band in the early seventies. Interestingly, their version of “Apache” was also a cover of an original song performed by Bert Weedon in 1960.
Wow! Another jungle DJ mix recorded at the junglecode studio last May. You’re in for a real treat this time. This one is an exclusive set from DJ Search One of San Francisco, California.
This set is all killer and no filler! Try this link first, if it doesn’t work, use this one. (MP3 format)
DJ Search One has been part of the junglecode crew since we started back in 1998.
